Comparing Timbrens and Air Bags for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500

Question:

Looking to help slight sag and bottoming out/bouncing on large bumps when towing a camper. I know the All Terrain model sits several inches taller than the other trim levels of similar GM/GMC trucks. it appears 3-4 inches taller when parked side by side however I have never measured. Looking for a recommendation for which product be better in this situation and if that extra ride height a concern when choosing. Most the time running around with no load when we are not camping.

The best two suspension enhancement options for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 are the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S and the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2430. I recommend the Firestone Air Helper Springs. The Timbrens are easy to install, maintenance free, and cost effective. However, the Firestone Air Helper Springs are adjustable so you can not only adjust the pressure while towing to get the perfect combo of support/comfort but you can deflate the system while not in use so you don't affect the unloaded ride quality which is a big advantage for those that use the vehicle for more than towing. The Timbrens have a reputation of giving a rough ride even while unloaded.

There will not be any issues with the All-Terrain Package with Z71 Suspension.
