Recommended Snow Chains For 2016 Chevy Express Van 2500

Question:

What chains should I get? I drive a 2016 Chevy 2500 express as a plumbing service van. Not a lot of weight in the back. We get everything from deep snow to ice. A I have a fair amount of rural customers with treacherous driveways. Looking for the best all round chains that don’t that are fairly simple and quick to put on and off. 245/75/16

I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2016 Chevy 2500 Express Cargo Van and it looks like snow chains are not recommended because of clearance issues. However, cables are recommended in the manual. For cables I recommend Glacier Cables part # PW2021C that are designed for your tire size and are constructed of a hardened carbon steel. The only downside to cables is that are not easily taken on and off.

The only option for actual tire chains that will work for you are the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - K-Summit XXL - Size K77, part # TH02230K77. Because they are designed to ride solely on your vehicle's tire tread, these chains are the perfect solution for trucks or SUVs with limited wheel-well clearance. These chains automatically tighten and align as you drive so they are pretty simple to use once installed.
