Hitch Adapter for Raising Up a Bike Rack on a 2007 Nissan Quest

Question:

I have a 2007 Nissan Quest mini-van with a 2 inch receiver hitch. I use a Thule bike rack but have major ground clearance problems. Could your part # RM-076 be used upside down to raise my rack?

The High-Low adapter # RM-076 was not designed to be used for that purpose. The adapter has a tongue weight capacity of only 100 lbs, and is designed for towing a vehicle that is resting on the ground behind another vehicle.

The Curt Multi-Purpose Ball Mount, # D210 might possibly be an option. The ball mount would raise your bike rack by 4-3/4 inches. The unit is rated at 7500 lbs towing, 750 lbs tongue weight. The receiver portion has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.
