Can I Trim Garnish Of MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan To Fit 1-3/4 Thick Roof

My roof thickness is about 1.75”. I also have a low roof. I’m wondering how far this fan would stick down into my head space. Thanks

The garnish piece that comes with the MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift part # MA00-04301M is designed to fit roofs 1" to 6-1/2" thick so it will be sticking down about 4-1/4" inches into your head space so it will need to be trimmed to install correctly. The garnish of the roof vent can be trimmed down with a rotary tool which I recommend doing so it fits the thickness of your roof.
The best option will be to trim the garnish because all of the other fan options that have various sizes of garnish available are either too tall or not tall enough.
