Trunk Mount and Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2000 Camry Sedan
Question:
Looking up Thule Outway on Thule site for my camry, the fit guides did not recommend three bike carrier. Is this because of weight on the car? Or that carrier will not fit? It does recommend Outway th45jv, however for 2 bikes.

The 3 bike model of the OutWay # TH56BV, cannot be used on your 2000 Toyota Camry because the vehicle cannot safely support the weight of 3 bikes on this Thule rack.
You can use the 2-bike model # TH45JV. It is important to follow the installation instructions and fit information from Thule so the bike rack is secured properly to your vehicle. The bottom clips must be attached to the frame holes if using the OutWay 2, # TH45JV.
There are three trunk bike racks that are approved for your Camry Sedan that will safely carry 3 bikes. You could use the Malone Hanger # MPG2139, the Malone Runway # MPG2142, or the Hollywood Racks Express 3. Of these racks, I recommend the Malone Hanger # MPG2139. It has 2 adjustable, padded arms and anti-sway cradles. These features make loading bikes easier and keeps them from making contact with other bikes or your car. I have included a video of all 3 along with installation instructions for you.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
