Does Heating Pad Need to be Placed Directly on What it is Warming
Question:
I have a gas operated generator that i keep in a shed. I use it for power outages. .I would like to know if I can use this heating pan with out sticking it on the generator.Its very hard to start when its cold out side.

You can use the Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad - 4" x 5" # KH24100 and not stick it on the generator but doing that will greatly reduce, if not eliminate, its usefulness. It may slightly warm it up, but there's really no way to know how much heat it will really get; these heating pads are made to stick directly on whatever it is they are heating.
