Powering the Tail Lights on a 2012 Fiat 500 to Flat Tow Behind a Motor Home
Question:
I may have purchased the wrong thing but. I want to modify my Fiat to be towed behind my motorhome. I bought this system but it really seems to be designed for a trailer behnd a FIAT which cant be done because of its size. Did I order the wrong thing or can I power the modual from my motorhome and still get stop lights, turn signal to work on my towed Fiat. Hopefully you understand what Im asking.

The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the vehicle owners manual to make sure that you can flat tow your Fiat or if there are any additional parts needed or recommendations from the manufacturer.
You will need to use a different wiring configuration. Like you said, the wiring harness # 118546 is if the Fiat is towing something. It cannot be adapted to operate the vehicle lights while it is being flat towed. I recommend the bulb and socket kit # RM-155 because you will not have to cut into the vehicle wiring for installation. You will need to drill a hole in the back of each tail light assembly though.
I have also included a link to an FAQ article that covers the various lighting options and an FAQ on flat towing for you to view.
