Replacing Factory Brake Controller With Aftermarket Brake Controller on 2018 Ram 3500
Question:
If I unplug my integrated brake controller on my 2018 3500 dodge and use the plug and Play controller you sale will it work without having to go to the dealership? I am fine with seeing the error message.

You can replace the factory brake controller on your 2018 Ram 3500 with the Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller # C49UR and Plug-In Wiring Adapter # C51458 without needing to go to the dealership if you don't mind seeing the error message. The brake controller will still work, but that message will likely be there (we have had customers tell us that sometimes the error message will go away), and there may also be a beeping that could quickly get very annoying.
What you can do instead is use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 which you can simply plug into the 7-way on your 2018 Ram 3500 without any other steps needed. We have contacted Curt in the past regarding this and they have said the Echo will simply take over the functionality of the trailer brakes with no other steps needed.
