Can 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 5-1/2 foot Bed Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer
Question:
Do I have any options that will allow me to safely pull a 5th wheel trailer with my truck? I have a PullRite SuperGlide 3300, older slider 2006 I think from another application that I would love to be able to use on this truck. Is there any way to make it work? Thanks!

There is a way to tow a fifth wheel trailer with a truck that has a 5-1/2 foot short bed like your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 model but not with a SuperGlide hitch as it would not slide back far enough. What you'll have to use is a fixed fifth wheel hitch setup with a Sidewinder pin box as this is only way to get the amount of turning clearance required.
You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.
Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
For a hitch the Reese 16k part # RP30047 with wedge # SWW-03 would work great and then for a rail kit the custom fit Reese kit part # RP50064-58 would be exactly what you'd want. Custom install kits install much easier than universal ones as they minimize drilling and install time.
