Can I Use Weight Distribution Hitch on Unloaded Trailer and Detach the Trunion Bars Until Loaded?
Question:
I have to haul my 16 foot flatbed car transport railer for an 8 hour mostly highway trip and it will not have anything on it for a load. It is a 1400 pound dual axle with brakes and I have this WD system. Should I use the bars or just leave them off for this trip and just use the hitch?

If you're not planning on loading the trailer until you get to a destination, you can either leave the trunion bars of your Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0600 completely off the system or loosen the bars up so that there isn't much tension. Either way works, it's just going to come down to how much work you want to do when you get the trailer loaded as well as wanting to keep the unloaded trailer from swaying too much.
If you're finding that your unloaded trailer is getting a lot of sway, you can tighten up the tension bars to help eliminate sway in the same manner that you would run your loaded trailer.
