Can the Lights on an 83 Inch Wide Trailer Be Considered as Reflectors
Question:
on my 83 inch wide trailer I understand I need 6 reflectors 2 on rear -4 on sides can the lights be considered reflectors or do I need reflectors separate from lights. Thanks for the help

The side marker or clearance lights on your trailer can be considered as reflectors as long as the light has a lens that is reflectorized, which means a separate reflector is not needed to be DOT compliant.
If the lights are on your trailer are not reflectorized, you will need to use separate reflectors or replace your existing lights with ones that are rated as a reflector also. If you look through our selection of clearance and side marker lights you will see ones that specify, with reflector.
I would also recommend to check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles to make sure of the guidelines pertaining to trailer lighting in your area.
