Can a Screwdriver or Other Tool be Used to Manually Lockout Titan Actuator

Question:

Can this actuator be manually locked out with a screwdriver, bolt or another tool if the reverse solenoid fails? My solenoid stop working when dropping my boat off for service. When I pick the boat up in a week or two I will need to back up the trailer to get it out of the lot. I can replace the solenoid or make repairs as needed when I get the trailer back to my house. Thanks in advance for your help.

Unless your Titan Actuator has a manual lockout (which the part you mentioned doesn't) the only ways to lockout the actuator are to either drill a hole straight through and place a bolt there, or to install an electric lockout solenoid like the replacement part # T4748800. The only problem with placing a bolt straight through the actuator is that the manufacturer usually says it can destroy the integrity of the product which would then make it dangerous to tow.

You might want to see if the shop will work with you so you can replace the solenoid on your trailer prior to picking your boat up.
