As long as you currently have enough clearance between the fender and F78-14 tires on your boat trailer to accommodate a slightly larger unit, there's no problem at all with upgrading to 15" tires and wheels. We recommend having at least 3" of clearance from the bottom of the fender to the top of the tire to allow for suspension travel.

For 15" tires and wheels I recommend going with a 205/75-15 size. This is going to have the same exact width as your current tires but will be just about 1" taller in diameter. Keep in mind that only 1/2" of this difference will actually affect your fender clearance since the other half is below the axle.

If you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern (which is the most common) the Kenda # AM32397 will work perfectly. This tire and wheel combo features a galvanized wheel for excellent corrosion resistant (perfect for a boat trailer) and the tire has a speed rating of 81 mph. It has a maximum load of 1,8250 pounds at 50 psi.

If you are unsure what your bolt pattern is I have attached a great article below to assist. Just let me know if you have something different and I will be happy to make an alternate recommendation. I have attached a short video review on the Kenda tire and wheel that you can check out as well.
