Do I Need a Cargo Basket to Mount the Yakima SlimShady on a Runaway Navigator Camper?

Hello. I have a Runaway Navigator camper with standard roof rack and they recommend Rhino Rack xtray cargo basket. Im interested in the Slim Shady awning and wonder if its compatible with the XTray or similar Tyger awnings or if I would be better off with the yakima Loadwarrior or megawarrior.

I have good news for you. The Yakima SlimShady Awning # Y36VR is designed to mount to roof rack crossbars, so which cargo basket you use won't really have any effect on your ability to mount the SlimShady-it depends on your crossbars. This awning can be used on round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars so long as your crossbars are at least 24" apart.

If you're looking to add a cargo basket to help carry some of your gear, the RhinoRack XTray Pro Cargo Basket # RRRMCB03 is a great choice. I especially like that this basket not only serves the purpose of carrying gear but can also act as a bike carrier, since it has integrated fork blocks to mount up to 2 bikes with 15 mm x 100 mm thru axles (different sized axle mounts can be purchased- see attached link for all adapters). This basket is 41" wide, so if you have a more narrow trailer, please let me know how wide it is and I can recommend a basket that will fit on your trailer.
