Does the CargoGlide Sliding Tray Require a Tailgate for Support?

Question:

I want to mount this on an F150 6.5foot bed that has the tailgate removed. Does this tray require the tailgate for support when fully extended?

I've got good news! You will be able to use the CargoGlide # CG1500XL-7548 without the tailgate because it is not a source of support for the tray when extended; the sliding tray is supported by the in bed sliders and really shouldn't even make contact with the tailgate in most cases. The manufacturer mentioned that these sliding trays are often used on cargo vans, so they're designed to be used without any type of support from underneath the tray.
