Can Spring Seat of Axle be Moved a Couple Inches to Allow Axle to Fit on Trailer

Question:

I have an existing trailer frame that I want to upgrade the axles on. From hub face to hub face is 90, but I think I can make 89inch work. The spring centers are 75.5. Can the 74inch centers on the axle be moved out 3/4inch on each side and not effect anything

You can move spring seats by having them cut off and rewelded in the correct location so the Dexter axle part # 8327812-EB that you referenced would work for you as long as you'd be willing to do that step. With this axle being 1 inch shorter in length than what you have now you'd have 1/2 an inch less clearance from the inside of the tire sidewall to the frame of the trailer.
