Recommended Engine Block Heater for 2011 Buick Enclave
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Buick Enclave with the standard 3.6 liter V6. I am looking for a plug-in engine heater as I often park it outside in winter weather. Nighttime temperatures where I live to 15 to 20 degrees on average in the winter. A couple of the heaters I have reviewed stated they do no activate above 0 zero degrees. Any suggestions appreciated.

You're on the right track- the Kat's Heater Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11811 is designed to fit your 2011 Buick, but like most engine block heaters this one is also thermostatically controlled and won't turn on unless the temperatures get below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The reason you're seeing a lot of heaters that don't activate above 0 degrees F is that most modern vehicles are well equipped to handle cold weather and it's typically only recommended that you use a plug in heater when temperatures get below 0 degrees Fahrenheit (I've seen it as high as 5 depending on who you ask), so this is done to prevent damaging the vehicle.
