Easy Way to Disconnect Battery of 2017 Honda Civic Getting Flat Towed

Question:

I am scheduled during the first week of December to bring in my 2017 Honda Civic with manual trans to have a tow behind setup installed. I already have a Roadmaster tow bar and have ordered the Blue Ox base plate and adapters, along with other items recommended by your customer service person - who, BTW, was simply fantastic to work with. My car has push button start and the steering wheel locks if not in Aux mode. I am concerned about the battery getting drained - what solutions are available to prevent this. Thank you.

The easiest solution would be a battery disconnect like the part # DW05312 which gives you an easy way to disconnect your Civic battery after putting the ignition into aux mode so that your steering wheel is unlocked. Basically this has a hand wheel that you can loosen and allows you to easily pull one of the terminals off of the battery.
