Will Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock Fit 2020 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

Do they make a Pop and Lock for a 2020 Tacoma? I would think the one for a 2019 would work as other accessories didnt change from 2019 to 2020.

I checked with Pop and Lock just now and they confirmed that the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PL54FR does fit the 2020 Toyota Tacoma models so this would work well for you.

Bought the pop lock for 2020 Tacoma Ted sport, the box says good for 2020 Tacoma, however the wires u suggest does not trigger the lock, watch some videos and those wire coolers either don’t exist or don’t work. Do you know which wires I connect to on the passenger side?Thxs

I called my contact at Pop & Lock and he did verify that the wire colors mentioned in the install manual are still correct for the 2020 Tacoma. Make sure you are in the driver's side kick panel (not passenger). Once there you are looking for the 10-pin plug that's at the very top. The correct plug will have a black and blue wire right on top of one another (black on top, blue on bottom). These are the wires you will tap into (P&L blue to black, P&L green to blue). Just let us know if you're still not able to find the right wiring.

Thank you Chris for the response, I watched a bunch of You tube videos which suggested the passengers side so you would have to double press the unlock button to unlock the tail gate which makes great sense to me, and thats the way I ran the wires, so what wires do I use for the passengers side to activate P&L? Also no where on the instructions does it say to run the wiring to the drivers side, perhaps some small clarification on the instruction sheet would be useful although I know its not in your preview. Thank you

I'm not sure what wire colors you would tap into on the passenger side of your Tacoma only because we haven't installed it in this manner, nor does Pop & Lock offer any insight since they suggest going through to the driver's side. If you want to keep your current configuration as-is, your best option will be to simply test those wires to see which one gets power with the locks activated. I think Pop & Lock may have recently updated their install manuals, and it's possible you received a package that still had the older instructions inside. I have emailed you separately with a link that will take you to the most up-do-date manual that offers a bit more clarification specific to your Tacoma.
