Comparing Edge and Superchips Tuners for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 with 6.0

Question:

I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500hd crew cab 6.0 gas with approx 150k miles. Had transmission replaced about 8 months ago with updated reman, but the rest is all stock. Looking for mainly fuel milage gain as I travel a lot but always could use the hp and torque increase. Watched the video on the Edge vs super chips. I like the edge but seen a review that you couldnt change settings on the fly. Can you with the S/chip and is there any other benefits or differences that I should know?

The Superchips and Edge Tuners are both excellent options, ones that will not only provide increases in fuel economy but also horsepower/torque. I recommend the Edge Gas Evolution CTS2 Performance Tuner part # EP85450 for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with 6.0 Engine as this will provide increases in horsepower up to 21HP and torque up to 30 TQ as well as fuel economy by a few MPG's.

The tuners write programs on the factory computer to follow which is what then allows for the gains listed above via fuel remapping, shift point adjustments, etc. However, due to the nature of these changes they cannot be done on the fly so to speak. In order to change and or modify a tune you must pull over, plug the tuner in, select the action you want to preform on the device, then wait for the device to write the program to the factory computer. I am not aware of any sort of tuner that allows you to make/modify tunes on the fly.

The main difference between the Superchips Tuners and Edge Tuners is that most of the Edge Tuners have large screens which allows you to view/monitor several parameters while diving as well as uploading/modifying tunes while stopped whereas the Superchips Tuners are more for just uploading/modifying tunes.
