Correct Replacement Parts For A Trailer Bearing Replacement
Question:
I have a carry on trailer but the axle was replace 6 years ago and now I need to replace the bearings on one side. I need a complete set of inner and outer bearings. The calipers are 1.05 inches or 26.7 mm. Can you help me locate what I need.

Because trailer wheel bearings are specific to the spindle that is installed on the axle, you will need to confirm the bearing size for a correct match. First you will need to safely support the trailer, remove the wheel and tire, remove the grease cap, remove the cotter pin and washer that secures the spindle nut, remove the spindle nut, and then you will be able to remove the hub from your trailer.
Once the hub is removed you will be able to get the part numbers from the inner and outer bearings to determine the correct replacement parts for your spindles.
The included diagram will help with the parts showing where the part numbers are located and the areas that you will need to measure if your parts do not have part numbers etched on them. I've also included a Help Article with the most common bearing sizes. We see 3,500lb axles most commonly with # L68149 and # L44649 bearings but you will need to confirm to be sure.
The included video is a great overview when you're ready.
