Recommended CTEK Battery Charger for Marine Battery Running Backup Sump Pump

Question:

I have a backup sump pump hooked to a marine battery for power failures in a storm. However, I also have it setup to assist the primary pump if the water in the sump gets too high. Would your charger CTEK MULTI US 7002 model 56353 12 volt battery charger be able to handle the backup pump running off the battery while the charger is connected to it?? Thanks

My contact at CTEK tells me that their 7002 model you'd looked at, part # CTEK56353 has a maintenance mode and could indeed be continuously used to maintain your marine battery while remaining connected to the battery, and while the battery remains connected to the pump. Once the charger senses a voltage drop in the battery, a pulse charge would be delivered to the battery until it reaches full voltage. The 7002 model would provide the set it and forget it solution that you seem to be looking for.

I have provided a link to the owners manual for the 7002 model, as well as to a product description video that you might find helpful.

We need to replace our sump pump battery charger because our basement flooded and ruined our present one. It has an attachment that connects directly to the sump pump. Is this necessary? I dont see one on the 7002 or the 3300.Im pretty ignorant on this subject.:

You should be fine with the 7002 model connected to the battery and the pump to the battery. Do test it thoroughly when you first install. Remember these systems are only for use with 12V batteries, so do verify the battery is 12V for your sump pump.
