Choosing Between A V Rack And A J Rack For A Malone Kayak Trailer
Question:
Hello, I am thinking of purchasing a kayak trailer as a gift for my son and daughter in-law and have a comparison question. Would you recommend V racks or J racks on the trailer? I dont really have any info on their kayaks so I guess what would be the best all around general rack type to look for? Thank you!

I recommend the V-Racks or horizontal kayak racks that allow your kayak to lay flat on it's belly. They are easy to load and are lower profile when loaded so less wind resistance is generated. They can also accommodate the heavier, wider fishing kayaks if that applies now or in their future kayak purchases. The Malone MicroSport Trailer for 2 Heavy Kayaks # MPG461GS is a great example.
J-style are popular but can also be more difficult to load and are less wind resistant with a higher profile when loaded. The Malone MicroSport Trailer for 2 Kayaks # MPG461G2 is a great example of that style.
