Folding Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a Ford Edge

Question:

We have a Ford Edge. Is there enough room to store part #S63400 in folded position on trailer hitch without removing it? Can we use some anti-rust spray paint on this part to inhibit rusting and extend life of product?

For a rack with arms that pivot down away from the vehicle you can use the Swagman Titan, # S63400, that you have referenced. I have linked instructions and a video review of this bike rack for you.

It measures 14-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar. Measure on your Ford Edge to see how much space is needed from hitch pin hole center to clear the rear bumper to make sure 14-1/2 inches is enough.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have top frame tube that goes straight across I recommend using an adpater bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry the bikes more level and provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video that shows how the adapter works.
