Question:
Will this Custer multi function strobe relay handle 10 amp or do I need to switch a relay? It says 420 milliamps.

Expert Reply:
The Custer Multi-Function Strobe Driver # STR-MRLY that you referenced is designed for LED light assemblies that don't draw nearly the kind of power that standard incandescent bulbs do. As you mentioned, this unit has a maximum load of 420 milliamps (which comes out to less than half of a single amp), so it's not going to work for a 10 amp load.
Your only option is going to be with a larger strobe driver, which we don't currently have available, or with light assemblies that have a built-in strobe function. A recessed mount option would be the Buyers Products 4" LED # 337SL40AR. A Warning Light bar option would be # # C4855AW. It has a magnetic base for quick mounting and removal.
