Programmer Recommendation for 2002 GMC Yukon 1500 5.3 liter
Question:
I pull my 30ft RV trailer that weighs about 6,500 lbs loaded. The 5.3 is a good engine, but pulling is not its strong suit. I am looking for something that helps with the hills, helps maintain speed on flat stretches without constantly down shifting, and give me any advantage I can get. Something that could help mpg when not pulling would be an added bonus. Thank you.

A programmer is exactly what you are looking for like the Superchips F5 part # SU2845 that fits your 2002 GMC Yukon XL. This will give you an additional 18 horsepower and 17 foot lbs of torque which will allow your vehicle to tow your trailer without as much down shifting due to the additional torque. It will also give you better fuel mileage when you are towing and when you aren't towing as well.
