How To Possibly Improve Traction of Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly on Dirt

Question:

Having a difficult time getting traction as my boat trailer cross from concrete to dirt area in my side yard. The dirt is dry, and there is no sign that the tires are sinking. Tires just keep slipping as I try to manually crank, or use the drill. Was thinking of picking up some 2x6s and placing those under the trailer tires, or perhaps try figuring out a way to add additional tongue weight. Any thoughts or suggestions that would help, are appreciated. Thanks

Trailer Valet will officially state that the # TVXL2 should only be used on concrete/asphalt and not on gravel or dirt applications since like you have found out the traction just isn't good enough and the wheel will spin.

So while there isn't an exact method we can recommend I would try what you mentioned. I think the board solution would be the easiest and most effective so I would start there. The wood would provide much better traction than dirt. Also in the event there's rain the boards will do better that more tongue weight in mud.
