How to Determine Which Side of Trailer a Brake Assembly Should Install On

Question:

Left or right brakes,I recently have had new dexter brakes installed on my trailer I suspect they ate not on the correct side of the trailer. Could I send you a pic of the stamp on the backing plate to see if it is correct? They are 10inch brakes on 3500lb axles

The easiest way to tell if a trailer brake assembly is installed on the correct side of the trailer is to pull the hub off and look at the actuating arm. The arm should be in front of the spindles on the side closer to the front of it. See attached picture.

The picture you sent in I believe is for the right hand side but without a part number listed on that stamping it's hard to determine for sure.
