Will 16 and 12 inch Kids Bikes Fit with an Adapter on a Thule Trunk Rack on a 2000 Toyota Avalon

Question:

I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon and was considering this 3 bike trunk mount rack or the same but 2 bike trunk mount rack. I cannot tell by the specifications if my daughters 2012 16 inch electra beach cruiser will fit. It is a fairly small bike. If I can fit just her bike we will be ok as i can put her sisters 12 inch inside the trunk. So will it fit, even with an adapter. It appears as if the frame size from seat stem to handlebar stem is about 15.5 inches. So I do not know if the adapter will fit either for odd shaped and womens shaped bikes. Any advice?

The Thule OutWay 3 bike carrier, # TH56BV, and 2 bike carrier, # TH45JV, are both listed as a fit for your 2000 Toyota Avalon, see link.

When using an adapter bar like # Y02531, you need to have the proper clearance to install the adapter between the seat post and handle bar gooseneck. The adapter bar I recommended measures 14-1/2 inches at its shortest so it will work with the 15-1/2 inch measurement you listed for your daughters bike.
