Are the Wall Mounts on Gustafson RV LED Interior Lights Interchangeable

Question:

I have a 2010 Phaeton. I removed the bulbs to replace the 1076 with led eq. I cant install the bulbs because they would not twist to lock in. I reinstalled original bulbs and had the same problem. What am I doing wrong. The slots line up but will not click in when I push in and twist. Also I cant remove the covers to try to give myself more room. Also if I decide to replace the fixtures with your reading lights can I get them with rectangle wall mounts or are the mounts interchangeable. My current mounts are black. Thanks in advance.

It's tough to say exactly what you're doing wrong here, because with bayonet style light bulb bases you should simply line up the pins, push the bulb in and twist clockwise to install new bulbs- which seems to be the process you're following.

If the pins aren't catching a slot and allowing you to twist you may just not be pushing hard enough; I know we just changed out some LED lights on a fixture in our house and it really did seem like we weren't going to get them to fit. Ultimately we kept at it and pushed a bit harder and were able to get the "click"- I know it might seem like the bulb may break, so you'll have to be careful, but those LED lights are fairly strong.

As for the Gustafson RV LED Reading Light # 277-000335 , these are a solid 1-piece light so you wouldn't be able to switch out the bases of them; doing so would void any warranty that they include as well as it being against UL regulations.
