How Does the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Install on a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
My frame is the rectangular tube type. There are no holes in frame where hitch should be attached. Is this hitch attached only with U- bolts?

There should be some holes in the truck frame on a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500, you just may not be able to see them unless you know where to look. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the install kit and for the hitch portions. Compare these locations in the instructions to your truck to determine if your truck does have the mounting locations specified.
The u-bolts you see are actually for safety chains from the trailer to the hitch.
For a short bed truck I also recommend adding the gooseneck ball with an offset, # 19308 for more clearance.
