Does the Ball Lock Into Place when Upside Down in Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

Does the ball lock in, when in the upside down position or does it just sit there?

Expert Reply:

I called and spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite to confirm. When turned upside down in the Draw-Tite gooseneck trailer hitch, # 9465-34, the ball simply rests inside of the cavity, the handle does not lock it into place. The hitch does come with a magnetic cover, see picture, to cover the hole so it is not exposed. I have also included some instruction links for you.
