How To Determine If Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit Replaces Dometic 80" Arms

Question:

the arms on my AandE dometic awning are 80 inches long , can these arms be used instead of the ones in the kit? If not , if installing the 69 inch long arms will they line up at the same vertical position as the old ones are located ? woujd you think that there would be a vertical stud running from top of rv to the bottom of rv at that spot ? i saw a video where the middle and bottom attacments would be with rivets because there are no studs at that location .

When determining if the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit part # LC434724 arms will replace the Dometic awning with 80 inch arms, you want to measure the actual awning. If your awning when extended measures less than 9 feet 8 inches then you can use the 69 inch arms to replace yours. As long as the awning when extended does not measure more than that measurement the arms will line up the same as your old ones. I would not know if there is a vertical stud on the RV but you could use a stud finder that detects metal and wood to see.
