What is Width of Putco Stainless Steel Fender Trim # P97290 and Why Does it Taper

Explain the size of wheel well opening that is covered by this trim is it 2inch wide or 1.5inch wide?

So the width of the Putco Stainless Steel Fender Trim # P97290 that you referenced ranges from 1-1/2 inches to 2 inches. It fluctuates between these two widths to match the wheel well area the best. If you check out the picture I attached you can see how the cover tapers thinner towards the front of the wheel and then is a bit thicker on the rear side of the wheel well.

I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 4x4 crew cab SLE I want to protect the rear fenders edge from rusting from road abrasion and thought your product would work. Can you send me additional info and photo of what it would look like. Thanks

If your Sierra is the 1500 model, the Putco # P97290 will work perfectly. It comes with trim for all 4 wheel wells (there isn't a rear only kit available) and its stainless steel construction will definitely help to prevent rust and corrosion. We don't yet have a picture of this installed on the Sierra.
