What is Max Height From Ground Bumper Can Be To Fit Detail K2 Storm II Plow
Question:
What is the recommended mounting bar I think DK2 calls it the cross member height for the Detail K2 Storm II plow? A few years ago I purchased this plow with recommended K285120 mounting kit for my 2000 Tacoma, but it doesnt seem to take into account different frame levels from tires, trim levels, or modifications. Among other things this creates issues with the blade not being flat on the ground when angled. Rough measurements look like the bottom of the mounting bar / cross member needs to be about 8 inches off the ground to keep the main frame and A frame level when plowing. That seems very low. Anyhow I wanted to see what the recommended ranges were before I started to modify things. Thanks!

I checked with Detail K2 and they told me that as long as your truck does not have a lift kit on it the bracket kit part # K285120 will put the brackets at the correct height to use the Detail K2 Storm II Snowplow # K2SUMM8826 that you also referenced. In general they said they said that as long as the distance from the bottom of the bumper to the ground is less than 19 inches you should be fine.
