In order to flat-tow a 2019 Ford F-150 you are going to need the basic components such as a tow bar, base plates, wiring harness, supplemental braking system as well as a few other less crucial but still needed components such as a battery charge line and brake light relay kit. I have attached recommendations for each of these components below.
Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar part # RM-676
- The Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar is one of the nicest options on the market as it comes with lights, safety cables, and an umbilical cord. It also uses a torque multiplier system for the release arms which allows them to be used on un-level ground.
Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-524431-5
- The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit has removal arms which makes for a clean look while not in tow which you can see in the attached photo.
Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # HM56009
- The Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit is a custom plug-in-pay fit so you won't have to do any splicing into the factory wiring which is a huge bonus.
Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 (Motorhome with Hydraulic Brakes)
Air Force One Supplemental Braking System part # SM99243 ((Motorhome with Air Brakes)
- The Stay-IN-Play and Air Force One are a favorite among our installers here as they tend to be the most straightforward and easy to install. They also both perform both extremely well and are regarded as one of the best systems on the market.
Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400
- The Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit is required to prevent your towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal sent by your motorhome.
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25
- The Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit is required so you don't have a dead battery in your towed vehicle once done pulling it behind the motorhome.
I have attached a few review videos for you as well.
