Can PullRite Base Rail Adapter Be Used with Curt Base Rail Adapter on 2019 Ram with Factory Pucks

Question:

I upgraded my truck from 2007 to 2019 RAM 2500 and looking for the way to save at least my pullrite hitch. Please advise if the PullRite Baserail Adaptr 14/18K Sg 4409 Enterprises will fit Curt adapter. Thanks.

The Curt Adapter Rails # C16022 that you referenced will drop into the factory pucks on your new 2019 Ram 2500 (congrats on the new truck!) to provide industry-standard rails. Your PullRite Base Rail Adapter is designed to attach to industry-standard rails, so technically it will fit, however I cannot recommend doing this.

Using an adapter on top of an adapter just creates way too much movement, especially considering you would be using an automatic sliding hitch on top of it. This would not be a safe setup for towing.

Since your PullRite hitch is a model that's not directly compatible with industry-standard rails, your best option is honestly going to be with a brand new hitch. If the hitch is still in decent condition you could probably sell it (along with the adapter) for enough to cover a good portion of the new one.

For your Ram I specifically recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550034 along with the Rail Adapter # DM6099. Like your PullRite, the Hijacker has an automatic slider so you can stay inside the comfort of your cab during sharp turns but unlike the PullRite, it has an adjustable height range of 15-1/4" to 18" so you can maintain a level setup. It also features a wraparound single-piece jaw and additional 3/4" steel locking bar to provide an extremely secure connection to the trailer and a smooth, quiet ride. It has an 18,000 pound towing weight capacity and is made right here in the USA.

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
