In order to install the Draw-Tire Activator IV Brake Controller # 5504 in your 2007 Chevy Silverado (Classic body style) with the factory towing package, you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Brake Controllers # 3015-P . This adapter plugs into the port under your dash board that vehicles with the factory towing package come equipped with and makes for a quick and easy installation.
If you have the 2007 Silverado with the new body style, you do not have a plug under the dash board you and will need to hardwire in the brake controller as follows:
Black wire: 12v Vehicle Power (battery)
Red wire: Stop Light Circuit
Blue wire: Brake Control Wire
White wire: Vehicle Ground
If your 2007 Silverado did not come equipped with the factory towing package, you'll need to add a 7 way connection on the back of your truck in order to tow your trailer and install a brake controller; you can accomplish this with the Pollack 7 Pole # PK11898 . If your vehicle has a round plug with a cap instead of a bundle of wires above the spare tire, use part # 30955 instead of the PK11898 .
