Andersen Ultimate Connection Gooseneck Version Or Sliding Hitch With A Short Bed Truck?

Question:

We have just purchased a new Jayco Eagle fifth wheel RV, and will be pulling it with a 2018 Ford F-250. I am having a turnover gooseneck ball installed in my truck bed and am very interested in the Anderson Ultimate hitch for the gooseball. Will I have any issues with turn radius with this hitch versus a more conventional sliding fifth wheel hitch? Thanks!

You can use the Andersen Ultimate Connection hitch with the Gooseneck Turnover ball installed in the 2018 Ford F-250 however it will not provide work for turning clearance. If you are concerned with turning radius the Andersen Ultimate Connection Gooseneck Version is only going to provide you with 8-9" of cab clearance offset. It will not be possible to make a 90 degree turn with the limited amount of offset the Andersen provides in a short bed truck. A slider will provide you with the travel needed to gain the turning radius that you are more comfortable with.

Since you have the B&W Turnover Ball hitch part # BWGNRK1116-5W installed in the 2018 Ford F-250 I recommend to use B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider part # BWRVK3400-5W in the short bed truck. I know it is heavier then the Andersen but offers 12" of travel for cab clearance to avoid knocking out your back window when making sharp turns.
