Will the etrailer 3,600 Watt Portable Generator Power Two Fridges and a Freezer

Question:

I have two refrigerators in a freezer refrigerators are approximately 20 cubic feet each and the freezer is approximately 12 cubic feet I looked it up on wattage for that size refrigerator freezer and they were showing approximate wattage usage at 780 Watts it appears that I should be able to run all three at once if I wanted to with this generator just wanted to check and see if this sounds correct we just recently had a power outage that lasted two days and I alternated with my neighbor generator so I only ran one at a time but if I get this one I want to try to run to or all three if I can but I dont want to overload it

There are two variables we need to pay attention to when selecting a generator, running power requirements and starting or surge power requirements. The running power requirements are essentially what the generator can produce while running whereas the starting or surge power requirements are essentially what the generator can handle when first starting the appliances. If we use averages we can determine that your power needs are around 2,000 watts running therefore the etrailer Portable Generator part # 333-0004 which is rated for 3,600 watts will be just fine. However, the starting or surge power requirements are likely double the running power requirements so you may need to plug each in, one at a time to avoid tripping the breaker. If you wanted to check this before hand you would need to reach out to each respective manufacturer and ask for these figures if not located on the unit or just test this yourself as worse case you trip the breaker.

If you have a 120 volt plug on all applicances then you will also need an adapter, the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter Plug part # A10-3015ARDVP as the above only has two outlets for 120 volt.
