Does Furrion 34" Electric Fireplace w/ Wood Need to be Flush Mounted When Installed

The installation instructions for the Furrion 34" Electric Fireplace w/ Wood # FF34SW15ABL actually say that you can mount it either way. There is a list of instructions for flush mount and then half flush mount as well.

To remove the glass you will carefully push it towards the fireplace and then use an upwards motion for the hooks to come out of the mounting holes. The glass overlaps the rest of the fireplace by about 1/2" so it will cover the second step but not by much.

I have attached the dimensional specs listed in the manual for you to check out.

I have a sound bar mounted about 2 inches above the fireplace opening. It extends out from the wall. Would the proximity cutoff be an issue. And can you turn the proximity cuttout off?

I reached out to Furrion and the proximity sensor senses out in front of the fireplace and not directly above so your soundbar won't trip the sensor. The sensor is a safety feature built-in so that if you left something like a blanket close to the fireplace it won't get too hot.
