What Wheel and Brake Sizes Work With Timbren Axle-Less System ASR3500S06

Question:

I am replacing ALKO torsion axle on my 2005 ROCKWOOD 256HW pop up camper with 14 inch rims/tires. Will these timbren axles axles accept my current electric brakes and hubs?

It is possible the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - 4" Lift Spindle - 3,500 lbs # ASR3500S06 will work with your wheels and brakes, but it depends on a couple of factors: the bolt pattern of your wheels and the size of your brake assemblies.

The hub and drum that fit this system is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84656UC3-EZ, and let's talk about brakes first. This is a 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide drum which means those are the size of brakes it will work with, so you would need that size brakes like the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469 for self-adjusting brakes or the standard Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-26-27 which are not self-adjusting.

Let's move on to the wheels and tires now, and this hub will work with 13" to 16" wheels so you are good to go in regards to your current wheels being 14", but the hub has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern so your current wheels do need to have the same bolt pattern. If you are unsure of what your bolt pattern is I have added a link to a help article which details exactly how you can find it.

If it does not have that bolt pattern you would need to replace your wheels with something like the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Mod Wheel # TA27VR. Which have a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.

I have added a link to our entire selection of wheel and tire combos with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern as well as links to video reviews of these parts for you to check out.
