Recommended Kayak Carrier for Two Kayaks with Combined Width of 46" on 47" Crossbars

Two boats with total width of 46 inches fit using these racks on a 47 inch Wing Bar Evo load bars? Thanks.

I do have a great option for you, however if the combined width of both your kayaks is 46 inches you won't be able to secure them using two of the Thule DockGrip Kayak Carriers # TH895 on your WingBar Load Bars. This is because there will need to be a small gap between the two carriers due to the cradle design which would push one of the cradle sets beyond the 47" length of your crossbars.

For this application I instead recommend using a couple J-style carriers like the excellent etrailer.com # e98878, which will allow you to mount the kayaks on their sides so they don't take up as much space. You can mount one carrier on each side of the crossbars to allow for easier loading/unloading from the sides of the vehicle.

This particular carrier includes the needed tie-down straps and features a 150 pound weight capacity. It is compatible with your Thule WingBar Crossbars. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
