Replacement Fifth Wheel Hitch For RBW Lil Rocker That Adds Height With 2019 Chevy 2500

Question:

Have a rbw lil rocker 5th wheel in my 2002 GMC 2500. Got a new 2019 Chevy 2500 that has bed sides 2inch taller than my old truck. 5th wheel is adjusted all the way up in old truck, so will probably be short for new truck. Are there parts made that I can change out on my 5th wheel that will give me 2inch more. Is the lil rocker still made, cant find a company page for the company.

I do have options for you but the RBW Lil Rocker can adjust to 15.5 inches according to my research but there are not any parts you can add to the fifth wheel to make it taller because RBW Lil' Rocker is no longer in production like you mentioned. Depending on your bed configuration there are a few options for you.

If your bed is an 8 foot bed with OEM puck prep package, you can still use the RBW Lil Rocker with a Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP30156 which will give you industry standard rails in the bed of the truck and adds about 2 inches of height to your setup.

If you have a 8 foot bed without the OEM puck package, I recommend to use the RBW rails but to replace the hitch with Demco 16K fifth wheel hitch part # DM6076P-16K that adjusts to 19 inches tall. The Demco is the best option you have to add height to the setup without the OEM puck prep package. If you no longer have the rails, you can add custom fit no drill rails part # DM8552000-71 to the bed of the truck to use the Demco.

If your truck is a 6-3/4 foot bed, I recommend to use a slider hitch to replace the RBW that adjusts higher for bed rail clearance and will give you the cab clearance you need to tow a fifth wheel with a short bed truck.

For this I recommend Demco 18K Autoslide part # DM8550034 with rails part # DM8552000-71 (If you do not have the OEM puck system). The Autoslide adjusts to 18 inches tall to give you the bed rail clearance you need and 14 inches of travel so you can make sharp turns without hitting the cab. The great thing about the Autoslide is you don't have to get out of the Chevy and pull the lever on the fifth wheel every time you make a sharp turn.

If you have the OEM puck system with the 6-3/4 foot bed I recommend the Demco Autoslide that fits into the puck system part # DM8550024 which adjusts to 18-1/4 inches tall.
