Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement for Maintaining Level Ride on 2018 Ford F-150

Question:

Hi, I am looking to level out my 2018 F-150 with 2 inch front spacers. Right now, with no leveling, under load, the factory rake provides a level ride. Will the Sumosprings continue to provide a level ride when under load with a TT when the truck is leveled? I was looking at airbags to prevent the rear from sagging under load once I level out the front but dont like the complexity of airbags.

Jounce-style springs like the SumoSprings # SSR-117-47 you referenced for the rear axle of your 2018 Ford F-150 do a great job of allowing your truck to better support heavier loads, but they aren't going to eliminate sag. This is because there's still going to be a gap between the spring and axle, meaning the rear of the truck will need to drop a bit before they will even engage.

Since you aren't a fan of the idea of air bags, your best solution for maintaining a level ride when under load (after you add those front spacers) is with the RoadActive Suspension System # RAS3611-Y for 4WD (as long as it's not the Regular Cab) or # RAS3611-B if you have the 2WD model.

These will secure under the factory leaf springs and U-bolts to create a mechanically active suspension system. This means you don't have to wait for anything to engage as heavier loads are added to the rear axle, as the strengthened leaf springs are always working to keep the rear suspension level.

I have attached a short video demonstration so you can see exactly how this system works.
