Pilot Hole Diameter of Wheel Taskmaster 5 on 5-1/2 Wheel With Offset

Question:

What is hole size? My old rusty wheels look like smaller hole. Does it matter?

The Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel w/ Offset - 15" x 5" Rim - 5 on 5-1/2 - Silver # TA37RR has a 4.25 inch pilot opening. The only time the size of the pilot opening is really important is if you're using a hub-centric wheel (which uses lug bolts and centers on the portion of the hub that sticks through the wheel's pilot opening) as opposed to a lug-centric wheel that would center on the wheel studs on the hub and use lug nuts instead of bolts.

If the wheels you have are hub-centric, You'll want a wheel that has a pilot diameter just a few hundredths of an inch larger in diameter than the diameter of the portion of the hub that passes through the wheel. If this is the case for your wheel, I'd be happy to find a replacement if you'd reply with the diameter of the pilot opening of your current wheels.

I've linked you to some helpful articles about trailer wheels and tires.
