Do All ST215/75R14 Trailer Tires Use the Same PSI Rating

Question:

I have a tandom Jayco Trailer unloaded weight 4300lbs. I have about 400 lbs of stuff inside. I had recently purchased 4 Trailer King ST Radial, ST 215 75r14 tires, installed last January. The trailer has been kept at home and I am now getting ready for a 100 mile trip. I checked the air pressure on the tires and got a reading of 20-22 PSI on each. Sidewalls say maximum pressure 50 lbs. PSI cold. Your information above says max 65. I think you are saying to inflate it to the maximum cold PSI on the tire. Is that correct/ Thanks for taking the time providing your expertise.

For some trailer tires, like the Taskmaster Provider ST215/75R14 # TTWTRTM2157514D, the max PSI is 65 but for others it can be different. Since your tires say max PSI is 50 then that's what you need to set it at. Trailer tire manufacturers tend to have similar specs for different sizes but that doesn't mean there is a "one size fits all" solution especially when it comes to things like PSI and weight ratings. Be sure to note the PSI and weight ratings (as well as the speed rating), fill your tires to the max PSI and then don't exceed the weight or speed ratings so that you can get the most life out of your trailer tires.
