Bike Rack Solution for 2018 Chevy Suburban That Won't Interfere with Parking Assist

Question:

I trying to carry a road bike on my 2018 Suburban without disabling the safety features such as parking assist when the bike is removed. In other words I dont want to have to install/remove my bike rack every time I want to carry my bike. I tried using a Grabar hanging rack and removing the mast each time but my sensors still the hitch module. Any ideas?

Best solution will be to carry the bike on the roof of your vehicle since that is the only way we can really guarantee the bike won't interfere with any sensors at the rear of the vehicle. For that we have the Thule ProRide XT part # TH598004 which fits the factory crossbars of your 2018 Chevy Suburban if equipped. This allows you to keep the front wheel installed on the bike as well when travelling.

If you don't have crossbars on your roof and only have flush rails instead you'd be able to use this bike rack still after installing a roof rack like the Thule part numbers # TH711520, # TH460R, and # THKIT4041. I attached an install video for this rack on a similar Suburban as yours for you to check out as well.
