Troubleshooting 2016 Bayview 5th Wheel Where LCI Ground Control and Slide Outs that Have to Reset
Question:
When raising the front of my 2016 Bayview 5th Wheel 40.5 the LCI 3.0 cuts off and I have to turn back on a couple of times to get it to the desired height. Once it cuts off, I have to reset the system by lowering all jacks and then retracting them. I am concerned that one time it wont work. Another problem is when bringing in the bedroom slide schwintek the slide comes in about 6 inches then you have to back it up a couple of inches to get it to come all the way in. I have tried to reset it but on beginning the slide process it turns a little then stops so you have to move it then it comes in good.

I spoke with my contact at LCI and they thought that most likely your issue is related to a voltage drop on your RV battery when using the jacks and slide out. He recommended first to check the voltage of the battery before using the systems and make sure they are at least 12 volts and then to check again when the systems are in use. If the voltage drops below 12 volts during use that would be the issue and most likely is going to require a replacement battery.
He also informed me that it could be a syncing issue on the slide out system as well and gave me instructions to pass on to you for how to sync them.
Schwintek Syncing Procedure
1. Extend the slide all the way out.
Wait for both motors to shut down
Hold onto the switch for an additional 3-5 seconds.
2. Retract the slide about 6-inches or so.
3. Do steps 1 and 2 twice more.
4. Retract the slide all the way in
Wait for both motors to shut down
Hold onto the switch for an additional 3-5 seconds
5. Extend the slide about 6-inches or so
6. Do steps 4 and 5 twice more.
If you still have issues after checking all of this they recommended finding a local service facility to have them check out the systems.
