Will The Swagman RV Bumper Bike Rack Work On A 2013 Toyota Tundra Front Hitch

Question:

Will this rack work well on the front receiver hitch of my truck? I can’t put it on my trailer because the trailer is too small and my back receiver hitch has the the trailer connected. So what is a good bike rack for the front of my tow vehicle? 2012 Toyota Tacoma, I recently bought a front receiver hitch from you. The bikes sit way too high and block my view on the Thule rack I currently have. Thanks,

While the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663 may work, I recommend the Swagman XTC2 bike rack part # S64670 instead. This rack has a proven track record of successful use on front hitches while the # S64663 is really intended for RV bumper use.

The XTC2 is a very popular bike rack we offer, highly rated by our customers and is easy to use. Because the rack has an angled shank it provides three inches of additional ground clearance. This is important when mounting to a front hitch and from the attached image of the rack installed on a 2013 Tundra, you can see it still doesn't impede the driver's view.

Another solution to consider is a trailer frame mounted bike rack, like the Hitch-It 2 Bike Rack for Straight Tongue Trailers # LC731138, or Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers # LC429756. This type of bike rack allows you to carry the bikes between your truck and the trailer. The Hitch-It fits around 2" to 4" wide trailer tongues while the Jack-It fits around jacks with up to 2-1/4" outer tube diameter and 22-1/2" clearance above trailer frame.
